Our family lawyers understand that when a relationship breaks down this will be a difficult and painful time for all of those involved. Tim Adkin and Emma Roberts are experienced Family lawyers who will be sympathetic but also there to guide you through the law as it relates to your circumstances, your rights and entitlements and the options you have to deal with the many practical issues that inevitably follow relationship breakdown.
Tim Adkin is a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority's Advanced Family Law Accreditation Scheme. Emma Roberts is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitor's Family Law Association).
You will need to talk through your circumstances with your solicitor and decide how you wish to proceed. If it is appropriate we will talk to you about reaching a settlement through negotiation or mediation.
Emergency Advice and Protection
We recognise that there are times when you will need emergency advice and protection, whether you or your family have been the victims of domestic abuse or whether you fear for your children's safety. At both our offices we are equipped to offer the advice and solutions you need, and in certain circumstances can obtain Orders to protect you and your family within 24 hours of your first appointment
Costs
We understand that the cost of legal work will be a concern for you. There is a free legal surgery, held on a monthly basis on Wednesdays, from 4pm at our Stroud office. You will need to contact the office to make an appointment for the free legal surgery.
We can also offer a fixed fee half hour appointment costing £60 (inclusive of VAT) which allows us to consider your options and provide initial advice. This appointment is at no obligation and we hope it enables you to make the decision about whether we can be of future assistance to you.
We will always consider whether any Public Funding (formerly Legal Aid) can be obtained to help you and if appropriate, make an application on your behalf. If not, you will receive from us at the earliest opportunity, details of our proposed charging rates and an estimate of your likely costs.
